Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Scottish Banded Agate Padlock Locket Pendant

A beautiful antique Victorian padlock, made of solid sterling silver with a Scottish banded agate slice to the front. A chunky shield shaped piece, the padlock mechanism is not functioning and has been soldered shut - so whilst shaped like a padlock this is not functioning, and is designed to be worn on a chain as a striking pendant.

On the back of the padlock is a small oval shaped glass locket, so perhaps this was intended as a Victorian mourning item. The glass is very secure and we have not attempted to remove it. It's possible this could be done very carefully by a skilled jeweller, but we have chosen not to attempt this incase it causes damage. It's likely that this glass has been in place for the 130 year life span of the pendant, as there is no photo or hair inside

Gemstone: Shield shaped bevelled banded agate plaque, measuring 19 x 17 mms

This pendant is antique condition with minor wear, faint surface scratches and tarnish, as to be expected from a used antique item. There is one tiny chip to the bottom part of the agate. This pendant has been professionally cleaned and polished, it's ready to wear or to give as a gift. Please see the photos.

We offer in-house ring re-sizing. Please contact us if the ring you like is not in your size, we will advise on if it can be sized and will give you a no obligation quote. Some styles (such as full eternity bands) cannot be sized at all, and some rings may only be sized within reason. We are always happy to give honest advice and guidance.

Items under £200 are posted via Royal Mail Tracked 48
Items over £200 are posted via Royal Mail Special Delivery

International orders:
Items under £200 are shipped via Royal Mail International Standard (no tracking, but tracking can be added for a £5 upgrade at checkout if needed)
Items over £200 are shipped via Royal Mail Tracked
