Antique Victorian 9ct Gold Cased Ornate Large Aesthetic Glass Locket Brooch Pin

A beautiful antique Victorian era brooch. This brooch is a stunning chunky ornate design with wonderful ornate relief detailing, and a rasied disco ball style faceted center piece. Inside the back of the brooch behind the pin, is a glass locket panel. This brooch is a raised puffy style, so the inner area of the locket is fairly deep and could be used to hold tiny gemstones or a lock of hair. The locket is a tight fit but can be gently removed with care, so you could add your own contents inside. A gorgeous antique aesthetic piece of jewellery. With an old style long C clasp.

Metal: Gold Cased. Gold casing is common in antique jewellery, it means that a thick layer of real gold has been applied to a base metal to help reinforce the strength of the jewellery (pure gold is soft), allowing for heaving embossing and engraving to be applied. Gold cased items generally have much more gold content than modern day gold plated items.

In good antique condition with some tarnish and surface wear, as to be expected from an antique item. There are some small dings and dents, and some wear to the gold detailing in places. Please see the photos.
