Antique Victorian 18ct Yellow Gold Moonstone and Rose Cut Diamond Stud Earrings

A beautiful pair of antique earrings, we expect this pair were made around c1900 - late Victorian / Art Nouveau era. They are beautiful quality and are made of solid 18ct yellow gold with sterling silver accented face, a trait of the era. The face of each ring showcases a large and beautiful moonstone cabochon, surrounded by a border of small genuine rose cut diamonds. These earrings have been very finely made, with excellent attention to detail, incluidng milgrain detailing around the bezels that hold the moonstones, and pierced open work back plates that allow the diamonds to have natural light pass through - for extra sparkle.

The moontones in these earrings are closed back, and glow with an ethereal gray / silver / lilac tone. They do not show blue. They are soft and magical with an excellent inner glow.

These earrings were made to be worn in candle light, in a decadent ball room, where they would sparkle and glow and draw admirers from across the room.

SPECIFICS:
Hallmarks: None, tested and verified as solid 18ct yellow gold with sterling silver accented faces. They ahev 9ct gold earring backs that have been added at a later date, but fit securely.
Age: Circa 1900, late Victorian era
Weight: These earrings weigh 3.9 grams together, they feel weighty and solid in the hand.
Gemstones: Per earring: 1x (9mm) round cut cabochon moonstone, and 36 x (1mm) tiny irregular rocky rose cut natural diamonds. All the diamonds are present, they show natural colour variance. The estimated total diamonds carat weight is 0.36cts.
Face: Each earring face measures 12 mms in diameter.

In very good antique condition, with just very light wear and age related tarnish. The earrings have been professionally cleaned and polished, sanitised, ready for a new owner. Please see the photos.

We offer in-house ring re-sizing. Please contact us if the ring you like is not in your size, we will advise on if it can be sized and will give you a no obligation quote. Some styles (such as full eternity bands) cannot be sized at all, and some rings may only be sized within reason. We are always happy to give honest advice and guidance.
