This beautiful little antique Victorian era locket is oval in shape, it's a perfect small to medium size for daily wear. This antique treasure has 3 finely engraved leaves on the front, a rare botanical find. This engraving was done by hand by a skilled jeweller around 140 years ago.

Inside the locket there is space to put 2 photos inside. Both original frames are inside, which is rare to find. The locket currently contains a woven lock of hair and a black and white photograph of a handsome young gentleman. It was most likely worn by his betrothed as a sweet keepsake of their love. You can of course, remove these contents and add your own if desired. The locket opens and closes from the right, closes securely to protect the precious photos you will keep inside.

SPECIFICS:
Hallmarks: Fully hallmarked as 9ct Gold, Birmingham. The hallmark is on the back and has worn with age, so the date letter is hard to see. It looks like it could be an 'N', which would be for the year 1887. If not this letter, then it's another from the 1880-1900 years.
Size: 2.7 cms tall including bail loop. Locket alone is 2.2 x 1.7 cms.
Age: Circa 1880, mid Victorian era
Weight: 2.4 grams (locket alone)

It can be purchased with the dainty contemporary 9ct gold fine curb chain as pictured, which is 16" long, if desired - or you can purchase the locket alone if you prefer. The chain is stamped 375 on the bail loop.

In very good antique condition, with minimal surface wear to the gold and light tarnish, as to be expected from an old item. This locket has been professionally cleaned and polished, it's ready to wear or to give as a gift. Please see the photos.
