Antique 1887 Victorian 18ct Gold Classic Sapphire and Old Cut Diamond 5 Stone Band Ring / Size N or 7

A classic antique 5 stone ring, made of solid buttery 18ct yellow gold. This ring holds a stunning blue sapphire and four sparkling genuine earth mined old cut diamonds. This is a fine example of a very timeless gemstone combination, which boasts stunning crips hallmarks that date this piece to the year 1887. This high quality antique ring would be perfect for a curated jewellery collection or to be given as an engagement or wedding ring.

Ring Size: UK N / US 7 (a medium finger size)
Hallmarks: 18ct Gold, London, 1887.
Weight: 2.6 grams
Gemstones: 0.30cts of sapphire, 0.30cts of diamonds.

SAPPHIRES: The central gemstone is a gorgeous oval cut sapphire, it is a stunning saturated cornflower blue in colour.
1x oval cut sapphire 5 x 3.8 (approx 0.30cts).

DIAMONDS. This ring has four natural diamonds, all are in an old European cut with tiny cut culets. These diamonds are chunky and sparkly. These diamonds do have relatively heavy natural inclusions, though the inclusions are clear with no black carbon, so are not majorly unslightly. One of the smallest, end, diamonds ia marginally darker than the others.
2 of the diamonds are around 3.1 mms (approx 0.12cts each), the other 2 diamonds are around 2 mms each (approx 0.3cts each). For a total estimated combined diamond carat weight of 0.30cts.

In overall good antique condition with just some age related tarnish and wear. The central sapphire has some light wear to the facet edges and a couple of small chips to the girdle edges. One of the smallest, end, diamonds has a scratch across the table, and the other smallest diamond has a tiny chip. This ring has been professionally cleaned and polished, it's ready to wear or to give as a gift. Please see the photos.

We offer in-house ring re-sizing. Please contact us if the ring you like is not in your size, we will advise on if it can be sized and will give you a no obligation quote. Some styles (such as full eternity bands) cannot be sized at all, and some rings may only be sized within reason. We are always happy to give honest advice and guidance.
