Antique 1857 Victorian 18ct Gold 1.49cts Old Mine Cut Diamond Navette Cluster Ring / Size K 1/2 or 5.75

A stunning original antique diamond ring from the mid Victorian era, with crisp original hallmarks that date this ring to the year 1957. This amazing ring is a elegant navette design, set with an array of gorgeous old cushion mine cut diamonds. There is a larger, focal, diamond in the middle which is surrounded by a halo of slightly smaller diamonds too - though even these diamonds are an exceptional size, and altogether the approximate combined diamond carat weight is 1.49cts. Packed full of hand made antique detail and character with a true finesse, the gallery shows impressive tiny muli-prongs, and the shoulders are ornate too - with sideways love heart and ribbon detailing.

This ring would be an amazing addition to any antique collection. A rare find with an impressive spread of diamonds, and only becoming rarer with time, as pieces of this quality get more and more scarce. It'ss even rarer to find rings of the age with crisp, full hallmarks such as this one. The photos don't do this ring justice, it's even more special in person.

DIAMOND SPECIFICS:
The diamonds have been tested and verified as genuine earth mined.
They are all antique cushion old mine cuts, with chunky facets and cut culets
The central diamond measures approximately 4.75 x 4.25 x 3.5 mms (approx 0.45cts). It has a very slight warmth to it, is very clear and sparkly with minimal tiny inclusions, though does have a tiny chip and long scratch over the table. This is not greatly noticable, but has been reflected in a reduced asking price for this ring.
The other diamonds are: 8x 3mm (approximately 0.11cts each, 0.88 combined), 2x 2.75mm (0.08cts, 0.16cts combined. These diamonds are all very white, with minimal tiny natural inclusions. 3 of these diamonds ahev tiny chips in places, these can only be seen under 10x magnification.
There are also two tiny accent diamonds which are rose cut, and are 1mm each.
The total approximate carat weight for all the diamonds combined is 1.49cts

In good antique condition with some signs of wear and tarnish related to age. Some of the prongs have worn a little shorter over time, but the diamonds have all been checked and are securely held in the settings. As mentioned in the 'Diamond Specifics' the central diamond has a tiny chip and long scratch on the table, which has been reflected in a lower than usual asking price for this ring. It's possible that originally this ring has two further tiny diamonds accenting the base of the shoulders, as there is a tiny 1mm hole on each one - these are not distracting and may not even have held diamonds, they might be part of the carving - just mentioned out of complete attention to detail and honesty. We have sympathetically cleaned and polished this ring, it's ready to wear, to give as a gift, or to propose with. Please see the photos.

Some styles (such as full eternity bands) cannot be sized at all, and some rings may only be sized within reason. We are always happy to give honest advice and guidance.
